A Note from Justin

As you may have heard, I am exploring a run for the open City Council seat in the 43rd District representing Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and parts of Bensonhurst.

I grew up in the shadow of the Verrazzano Bridge and have always called this community home. This is where my wife, Leigh, and I own a small business and where my mom, Mary, has been an educator for over 30 years. Helping others is my passion and with your support, I hope to continue doing that in an official capacity as your next councilmember.

Now more than ever, we need to elect people with guts who aren't afraid to stand up for what's right. I was lucky to have parents who raised me with a strong work ethic and an equally strong backbone. I got my impatience for bureaucracy from years as an activist and I know how to cut through red tape to get things done.

But here's the deal: in order to run an effective campaign, I need to raise money. The good news is NYC helps level the playing field so regular people like me can run for office without relying on super PACs and billionaire donors. Through public financing, your donations are matched 6 to 1 -- so your $100 contribution becomes $700.

I am asking you to make a donation today so we can start off strong. My goal is to have 100 individual donations by the first filing deadline. Can you help me get there with a donation today?

The future may be uncertain but the path forward begins here, at the local level.

I'm excited for you to join the campaign. This isn't about me, it's about us, so please share the news and spread the word!

See you on the campaign trail,
